A DAY OF CONFESSION - PART 1

Hi Readers,
I decided to do the A DAY OF CONFESSION  in parts. Since these days people are very busy, I  felt that short BLOGS would be easy. When you  read through the lines, as the Holy Spirit convicts you, please stop and spend a few minutes in prayer and confession.

Genesis 1:26 King James Version (KJV)

²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Implication:-

God wants us to be in HIS IMAGE.

God wants us to be in HIS LIKENESS.

God wants to have DOMINION over fish, birds, cattle, animals, insects, reptiles, and also the EARTH.

That means GOD wants us to have

a. AUTHORITY,

b. To exercise LEADERSHIP wherever we are.

Q. and how can I do this – by getting involved wherever opportunity comes.

Some questions to check ourselves in the light of the WORD.

1.   Do I want to be in God’s IMAGE?

2.   Do I want to be in God’s LIKENESS?

3.   Do I want to take over DOMINION, Authority, LEADERSHIP whenever an opportunity comes my way?

OR

Do I take a step back out of

a.    SHYNESS

b.    ANXIETY

c.    FEAR

d.   CARELESSNESS

e.    LAZINESS etc.

²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Implication:-

1.   GOD wants us to be BLESSED and at the same time BLESS others in the same manner as he Blessed us.

So how we should think is I need to BLESS the people around me. I need to be a blessing unto the people around me. It is my DUTY. Some say “ why should I ?”

It is a very wrong way of approach to life. Not only do they say “why should I?” but teach others and influence others by saying “ why should you” why ONLY YOU?”

For example – If I have a set of crockery, then I should think this way – my maid should also have a set of crockery, my driver should have a set of crockery, my gardener should have a set of crockery etc. Same way with comforters, mosquito nets, etc.

Many don’t understand the importance of undergarments. I buy new sets of undergarments and sanitary pads for giveaways. In India many girls suffer because they cannot buy bras or panties. They don’t even have enough to buy sanitary napkins – they use old rags. They wash and rewash and finally one day they get infected and at a tender age have to get their uterus removed. Why only ME -  It is not ONLY ME or ONLY YOU – it is to make the Little DIFFERENCE in the BIG WORLD.

2.   God wants us to –

a.    BE FRUITFUL

b.    MULTIPLY

c.    REPLENISH the earth

d.   SUBDUE the earth

e.    Have DOMINION over every living thing

Being FRUITFUL is to be successful in every area of life. Here it implies to both the physical and spiritual aspect of being FRUITFUL.

MULTIPLY – here is both physical multiplication and spiritual.

REPLENISHING the EARTH for me is to – keep fully stocked, provided, supplied, physically or materially filled, to help attain its FULLNESS, fill ( filling space, filling heart, filling with feelings), to inhabit , to settle, to occupy the whole place etc.

Example somebody wrote in AD 1494 like this “This man made the Newe Forest and replenvshed it with wylde bestes”

In today’s times we can put it this way that a man made a new forest. Later he filled it with wild life. We see that being fruitful, multiplying, filling the land etc have similar implications so we can say that it was said thrice in different ways. Hence there is an emphasis made on a particular idea. So in Indian way we can say V.V.Imp. that is Very Very Important.

Then the second thing that is pointed out in this verse is to HAVE DOMINION and TO SUBDUE the earth. This again is a repetition of the previous point we have already discussed. Hence repetition means it is V.V.Imp. that is Very Very Important.

Some questions to check ourselves in the light of the WORD.

Q. Do I feel BLESSED?

Q. Do I really act BLESSED in my family, work, neighborhood, church, school, college or university, etc

Q. Do I really believe I am BLESSED?

Q. Am I fruitful in my work?

Q. Am I fruitful in my life as a Christian Believer?

Q. Am I multiplying myself by giving gospel, mentoring, etc

Q. Am I praying for multiplication in various areas of my life?

Q. Am I praying for the multiplication of healthy food?

Q. Am I wanting to be a part of the GREAT MULTIPLICATION process that God has intended us to be?

Q. Am I being helpful in REPLENISHING the earth?

Q. Am I really taking DOMINION over everything that God wants me to?
